Detect-It LLC Announces Version 5.0 — Biggest Software Release in Company History

Detect-It LLC, the Oak Park, Michigan-based developer of no-code, on-premises AI vision inspection software, today announced the upcoming release of Detect-It Version 5.0 — the most significant update to the platform since its launch in 2021.

Version 5.0 introduces a series of new tools and capabilities designed to reduce setup time, increase detection power, and improve reliability for manufacturers running AI vision inspection on 24/7 production floors.

What's New in Version 5.0

The release introduces two new labeling tools — Magnet Boxer and Array Boxer — that dramatically reduce the time required to build AI training datasets for parts with repeated or arrayed components such as multi-cavity trays, fastener grids, and connector arrays.

For the first time, Detect-It 5.0 supports running multiple detection networks simultaneously on a single line, merging results into one unified output. Manufacturers can now inspect for multiple defect types or part variants in a single pass without adding hardware or splitting camera feeds between separate systems.

Version 5.0 also introduces incremental model retraining — the ability to continue training from existing model weights rather than rebuilding from scratch. When a new defect type appears on the line, models can be updated in hours instead of days.

Additional improvements include multi-plant layout management with full export and import of complete layout packages, improved USB camera remapping and automatic recovery when a feed disconnects, and a significantly upgraded script editor with code completion for teams building custom detection logic.

Available September 2026

Detect-It Version 5.0 is scheduled for release in September 2026. Licensed customers will receive the update at no additional cost as part of their existing license.

"This release represents everything we've learned from watching our customers run Detect-It on real production floors," said Kevin Kerwin, President and CEO of Detect-It LLC. "Every feature in 5.0 came directly from something a manufacturer told us they needed. Faster labeling, more networks, less downtime — this is the platform our customers have been asking for."
